Every year, Zig Zag Railway welcomes tens of thousands of visitors from across Australia and around the world.

The Guest Services Crew plays a vital role in creating the memorable experiences our visitors come to enjoy. From greeting guests and answering questions to supporting events and retail operations, this team helps ensure every visitor feels welcome from the moment they arrive. The Guest Services Crew includes both paid employees and volunteers working together to deliver outstanding visitor experiences.

Our paid staff provide day-to-day operational support across guest services, retail and events, while volunteers contribute their time, enthusiasm and local knowledge to help create memorable experiences for our visitors. Both are highly valued members of the Zig Zag Railway team and play an important role in our success.

Many people join the Guest Services Crew because they enjoy meeting people, working as part of a team and contributing to a vibrant visitor attraction. WHAT DOES THE TEAM DO?

Guest Services Attendants
Guest Services Attendants are often the first people visitors meet when they arrive at Zig Zag Railway. They assist with ticket checking, wayfinding, passenger information, accessibility support and general visitor enquiries, helping to ensure every guest enjoys a safe and enjoyable experience.

Retail Team
The Retail Team operates our gift shops and retail outlets, helping visitors find the perfect souvenir to remember their visit. Team members assist customers, maintain displays, process sales and help showcase products that celebrate the history and heritage of the railway.

Events Team
From Wizards Express and Dogs on Board to special celebrations and seasonal experiences, the Events Team helps bring some of Zig Zag Railway’s most memorable experiences to life. Opportunities may include event setup, guest interaction, activity facilitation, costume roles and general event support.
