WHE Wagons

Eight-wheeled Bulk Wheat Wagon, suitable for Express Freight and Goods trains, Steel Construction, Roller Bearings. Originally classed WHX, they were later re-classified to WHE.

They were superseded in wheat traffic by Aluminium Bulk Grain Hopper Wagons but some were re-classified for other traffic.

Zig Zag Railway

§ 8’ 8½” (2654 mm) to top of tarpaulin rails when fitted. Wagon Nº 31607 was the last member of a 300 strong class that was built by Commonwealth Engineering in 1960 and acquired by Zig Zag Railway in 2004
