Getting to Zig Zag Railway is now easier than ever, with free NSW TrainLink coach shuttle services now stopping at Zig Zag Heritage Railway in Clarence.
Starting on Monday 10 August 2026, Zig Zag Railway became an official stop on the free Bathurst to Katoomba coach shuttle route, providing visitors with a new and accessible way to travel between the Blue Mountains and Central West.
A New Way to Reach Zig Zag Railway
The free NSW TrainLink shuttle coach service is part of the temporary transport response to the ongoing Great Western Highway closure at Victoria Pass. The service began in March 2026 and has already recorded more than 6,700 passenger trips.
With Zig Zag Heritage Railway now included on the route, visitors travelling from either Bathurst or Katoomba can conveniently stop at Clarence and experience one of Australia’s most iconic heritage railways.
Best of all, no booking is required.
There are 13 free coach service stops operating daily along the Bathurst to Katoomba route.
