One team, one dream.
Behind every milestone in the workshop is a dedicated team making it happen. This update offers a glimpse behind the scenes at the people carrying out the essential maintenance that will bring Steam Engine 218A back to life.
Our workshop is powered by a skilled mix of staff and volunteers, each contributing their time, experience and passion to the task at hand. From inspections and welding to careful reassembly, every bolt tightened and every check completed plays a vital role in the restoration process.
This work is built on teamwork. Collaboration, shared knowledge and a deep respect for the locomotive guide every decision made on the workshop floor. It’s this collective effort – the spirit of one team, one dream – that keeps progress moving steadily forward.
Thanks to this incredible commitment, Steam Engine 218 remains on track for her service return later this February. Every day in the workshop brings her closer to steaming through the mountains once more.
