Zig Zag – Now & Then

Like some Ancient Greek ruin, the junction of Top Points and Middle Roads sit abandoned and overgrown more 20 than years after the cessation of its usage as the main NSWGR line from the NSW interior to Sydney.
Apart from the odd intrepid historian, hiking tour or Lithgow Local, the railway lay abandoned, overgrown and forgotten until the late 60’s.
The black and white image was scanned from an original glass plate negative, kindly provided by the Australian Railway Historical Society, NSW Division. (Circa 1930’s).
